Berks & South Bucks County Championships 2018 - First Weekend

Maidenhead swimmers acquitted themselves superbly during the first weekend of County Championships (13th / 14th January).  From the most experienced swimmers to the first timer’s , all of the swimmers rose to the occasion. Team spirit was fantastic, and the swimmers applied themselves to their race plans consistently. Not surprising then that there was an over 90% personal best time strike rate. Over the weekend Team Maidenhead were represented by 23 swimmers in age group finals. There were multiple medal winners in both age group as well as Junior & Senior Championships for Tom Dean , Isobel Benster and William Dean .

However the stand out performance of the weekend came from the boys 12/13 age - 4 x100m medley relay team who were crowned Junior County Champions. The four boys Ben Philips, William Dean, Alex Bacon and Nathan Potter all swam superbly and also achieved silver medals for the 4 x 100m freestyle relay. Whilst the girls team achieved bronze in their 4 x 100m freestyle relay race.

The most pleasing aspect though was the swimmers professionalism, support for each other and general positive attitude throughout the event. We look forward to the second weekend of competition on the 27th / 28th January.
