COMPETITIVE SQUADS
Junior 4
We offer 6 sessions per week to swimmers aged 9–12 years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers develop their fitness with regular interval training and are introduced to race pace swimming.
- Skill and technique remain central to the swimming program.
- Swimmers follow a comprehensive competitive program, working toward potential County qualifying times.
- Additional opportunities include participation in Open Meet competitions, Club Championships, and potential team selection for the Thames Valley Junior & Arena Junior Leagues.
Junior 5
We offer 7 sessions per week to swimmers aged 10–13 years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers continue to develop swimming endurance and follow a periodised program over the swimming season (September through July).
- Skill and technique remain key aspects of the swimming program.
- Swimmers follow a competitive program structured to achieve potential County/Regional qualifying times.
- Additional opportunities include participation in Open Meet competitions, Club Championships, and potential selection for the Thames Valley Junior & Arena Junior Leagues, as well as the Senior Arena League teams.
Junior Development Squad
We offer 3 sessions per week to swimmers aged 9–12 years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers have an excellent opportunity to develop their swimming endurance and skills.
- Training is designed to prepare swimmers to progress to the Junior Competitive Section or Senior Development (Swimfit) Squad.
- Swimmers improve their swimming skills and fitness through an interesting and engaging program that includes all four strokes, medley swimming, as well as starts and turns.
Senior Development (Swimfit) Squad
We offer 3 sessions per week to swimmers aged 12–18 years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers develop their swimming skills and fitness through an engaging and varied program.
- Training covers all four strokes, medley swimming, and starts and turns.
- Additional opportunities to improve the development of their swimming skills and drive to improve come from Club Champs and our own run Level 3 meets. Although this is not a squad requirement, competitions give the swimmers a target and something to focus their training towards as well as swim fitness.
Competitive Squad
We offer 9 sessions per week to swimmers aged 13+ years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers follow a periodized program over the swimming season (September through July).
- Skill and technique remain key aspects of the swimming program.
- Land training is introduced to enhance overall performance.
- Swimmers participate in a full calendar of events, including County/Regional Championships (with relays), Open Meet competitions, and Club Championships, with potential selection for Senior Arena League teams.
Performance Squad
We offer 9 sessions per week to swimmers aged 13+ years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers follow a periodized program over the swimming season (September through July).
- Skill and technique remain central to the program.
- Land training is further developed, with gym work introduced for swimmers aged 15 and older.
- Swimmers participate in a full calendar of events, including County/Regional/National Championships (with relays), Level 1–4 Open Meet competitions, Club Championships, and potential selection for Arena League teams.
Performance + (National) Squad
We offer 11 sessions per week to swimmers aged 14–18+ years old. In this squad:
- Swimmers follow a periodized program over the swimming season (September through July).
- Skill and technique remain key aspects of the program.
- Land training is further developed, with individualized gym work introduced for swimmers aged 15 and older.
- Swimmers have a full calendar of events, including County/Regional/National Championships (with relays), British Championships, Level 1–4 Open Meet competitions, Club Championships, and potential selection for Arena League teams.
