Understanding Your Equipment
If you are unsure what a specific item is, here is a quick guide:
- Kickboard: Used for isolating leg work.
- Short Fins: Used to improve ankle flexibility and leg kick strength.
- Snorkel: A center-mounted snorkel used to focus on head position and stroke technique.
- Pull Buoy: A foam float held between the legs to aid in body position and isolate arm work.
- Hand/Finger Paddles: Used to develop strength and improve the 'feel' of the water. Note: Your coach will advise on the correct size.
- Band (Rubber/Tubing): Used to tie the ankles together to isolate the core and arm stroke.
